How to swing golf club

Golf is a game which is largely based on individual style and technique. Though there are certain basics that must be learnt while playing the game, after that factors like the swing style is largely dependent on the player's personal strengths and positions that he is comfortable with. Therefore there is no standard way in which one can swing a golf club. Different people have different styles and therefore it is difficult to generalize something like the golf swing. Also, there is nothing called the perfect swing which will guarantee you a win no matter who you are. Different swings are perfect for different people. For example, some of the best players in the world have such styles of swing that they are beyond all conventional rules of golf. Yet, these are the swings that work for them and help them win games.

However, there are certain rules or rather the basics that one must get straight because these help the player in being able to swing well. Once a player gets these basic rights, a good swing will happen automatically. Firstly, golf is a very graceful and flexible game, therefore, keeping the body stiff is a strict no-no. Always remember to relax or loosen your body and then bend the kneed a little. The next important thing that you must keep in mind is the grip on the golf club. Slightly relax your hold on the club and also let your body relax a little. Following these, bring the club back into the backswing. Now remember the backswing must be executed with a lot of fluidity. Your body must bend at the hips and the elbow must be maintained in a completely straight position. Your body weight should also be on the foot that is on your front.

The backswing is followed by the downswing and here the movement must start with your legs or arms. But again there is a lot of debate surrounding this belief. Some other golfers believe that while executing the backswing, the movement should start with a transferring of the body weight from the hips. The best way is to try both out and see which stance suits your body better in terms of ease and comfort.

The swing will be followed by the impact when the front arm should be straight and your body weight should be on the outside of the front foot and the inner zone of the other foot. The follow through the club should have your head at the back of the club and even the knee of your trailing foot should be bent. These are some of the universal basics that come into play but again each of these steps can be modified according to the comfort level of the player.
