What do you dream of? Do you see lush golf courses, shining golf clubs and a trophy in your hands? Or perhaps your day dream goes even further and you dream of becoming the next Tiger Woods, in the world of golf? Well, it is good to dream, but as the saying goes, "Opportunity only dances with those on the floor". So if you want to translate those daydreams and air castles into reality then you really need to swing it good and swing it hard. I am talking of the all-important golf club of course. It is the speed and the technique of your swing that shall make or break your game and determine your future in the world of golf. So here are a few tips and tricks that can actually work wonders (providing you work hard at implementing them) and might just land you the long cherished trophy.
It is an extremely difficult or rather challenging task to actually master a good golf swing and keep up a certain consistency in style. It might look very easy and in reality, it is no walk in the park. So if you are really serious about mastering the swing then you had better start rolling up your sleeves and get down to some heavy duty practice because that is what it takes to be a good swinger. Here are some of the tried and tested.
The first thing that is the defining factor for a golf swing, is the GRIP. It is the first and foremost thing that you should learn and that is how to develop a good grip on your club. A good grip helps you the hit the ball hard and hit it over a long distance. Among the numerous kinds of grips that exist in the game, there are three kinds of grips that are there. One is the Interlocking Grip, where the index finger of the left hand and the little finger of the right hand interlock with each other. This can give you proper leverage. Then there is the Overlapping grip, which has the right hand little finger on top of the left hand index finger. Then for the beginners there is the Baseball grip for the beginners in which the left hand index finger and the right hand little finger touch each other but do not overlap.
Also, another important point is to always have your body weight balanced while you are standing and playing. Bend at the hips and flex your knees slightly when you are swinging. also keep your back erect.
For right-handed players keep your left hand straight when you are doing the backswing and also try to get back as much as possible.
Then comes the downswing. Do not move your head around and maintain a fixed position. Your hips should move first and also keep your head in such a position that the ball is always ahead of it. Keep an angle between the golf club and your wrists and try to hold it as much as you can.
